Charity is mercy in this world before the hereafter.
Many people try to search for what brings them mercy and makes them feel happy, and the ways that lead them to their goal are countless, as the paths to Allah are as numerous as the breaths of creatures, as mentioned by the Prophet and his family (peace be upon them).
The quickest of these ways is charity to those who deserve it, on the condition that it is given as a means of closeness to Allah, not for the sake of people praising them.
In order for your charity to be beneficial, do not let your left hand see what your right hand is doing when giving charity, and do not boast in front of people about your actions, lest your reward be lost and your recompense disappear.
Charity prolongs lives, increases sustenance, extinguishes the anger of Allah, and keeps many diseases away from the giver. It is mentioned in a hadith: “Treat your sick with charity.” And in another hadith: “Charity falls into the hand of Allah before it falls into the hand of the servant.”
Allah has praised the givers of charity in His noble book and promised them mercy and paradise.
One of the virtues of charity is that it has effects in this world and the hereafter. It is sufficient to mention what is stated in the Quran about charity, where Allah says:
“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.”
“You will not attain righteousness until you spend [in the way of Allah] from that which you love. And whatever you spend – indeed, Allah is Knowing of it.
